Dear Friends,
There is so much that goes on
behind the seens to make a successful swim team. These
include; billing, accounting, insurance, team registration, swimmer
registration, certifications renewal, scheduling
programming, scheduling lessons, web site maintenance, Board meeting
preparations,awards,compliance with various orginizations, reports,
securing pool time, meeting with parents, goal setting, managing
employees, payroll, and numerous of other tasks. Recently we
moved our MCAT Office. We are now located in the same
complex. 210 Capitol mall, Suite 10, Salinas Ca. 93921
Just because a coach is not on deck
doesn't mean they aren't working. Trying to secure pool time has
been difficult this year. Hartnell will close for renovations
on June 1,2010. Alvarez was considering closure due to
budget issues. We are happy to announce that we have
negotiated a deal. We will be at the Municipal Pool until
June 8,2010. We found out yesterday that our request to use
Alvarez pool for the summer has finally been approved. We
will issue a schedule to all MCAT program participants soon.
I am writing this because a rumor
is going around that I will no longer be coachng. THis is not
true. We have qualified staff and personnel to coach what I
need them to coach in my absense. I have reinjured my ankle
and have chosen to concentrate on managment tasks primarily while
others can coach. Our team is a team of coaches.
Coaches have been directed to coach other groups and to let others
coach their primary responsibility. The philosophy here
is that you do not belong to a coach or vica-versa. You
belong to a team and you swim for a group, not a coach. You
should be exposed to other coaches and coaching techniques.
It will make you a better and less codependant swimmers. I
caution swimmers and parents to not get too attached to any one
coach and make all coaches part of your family.
Administrative or questions
involving management, scheduling or general team
questions should be directed to Coach Dia. Dia also
handles Senior group and Masters group calendars, scheduling and
coaching. (831)-905-9890. Feel free to call or
email me anytime.
CVAL entries, questions, and
participation should be directed towards Amber Kearney. Amber
also manages age group swimmer workouts and practice
objectives. (831)596-0169
Swim America-Swim Lessons
questions, scheduling, information and sign ups should be
directed to Kristen Henry. Kristen also deals with team
store purchases and swim team try-outs 1(866)411-6228

raise a minimum of 20,000.00. To date we have $2,127.00
turned in.
It is going to be a great
